6141 1964 Bristol Barrow Road

6141 1964 Bristol Barrow Road

With 3659

Considering the late date , 6141 looks in reasonable condition albeit without her smokebox door numberplate here at Bristol's Barrow Road , that shed having the distinction of being the sole surviving shed open to steam from the June of this view with the closure of St. Philip's Marsh that same month.
Bristol's Western Region principal passenger locomotives Motive Power Depot at Bath Road had closed to steam much earlier , on the 12th . September , 1960 , so following June of 1964 it was just here at Barrow Road that steam servicing facilities thereafter existed not only for its own allocation of both former Western Region and Midland Region classes , but also for locomotives ending their workings at Bristol.
