Ivatt class 2MT 2-6-0 No 46521 leaves Barmouth behind as it crosses Barmouth Bridge with an up pick-up goods for Machynlleth on July 25, 1963.
Peter Kerslake says "With Barmouth nestling below the cliffs on the extreme left this view has 46521 comes off the steel section of the Bridge and on to the wooden section with the pedestrian walkway on the right. This took walkers from Panorama Walk along the whole length above the Mawddach eatuary upon payment of a small fee at what had been the coastguard building in past days.
This steel section of the bridge, completed in 1900, was above the deepest section of the waters and was capable of being opened above the fifty feet of water below, the bridge having a speed restriction of 10 m.p.h. throughout."
