Peter Kerslake says "62682 Haystoun of Bucklaw had been numbered 6389 when in L.N.E.R. ownership, the engine being one of the additional 24 'Improved Directors' brought into service during 1924 specifically for use on former North British Railway lines in Scotland and conforming to the tighter Scottish loading gauge. At the date of this view 62682 was one of fourteen of the class allocated to Eastfield; the remaining ten were at Haymarket. It lasted in service until July 1961."
