Dumped at Bo’ness along with other steam locomotives, Class D11 No 62691 ‘Laird of Balmawhapple’ looks anything but lordly in April 1962. Withdrawal had taken place in December 1961, but it had already been in store at several locations and observed here in November; it finally left in February 1963. Its final tow was to Connell's of Calder for scrapping which was completed by May.
