4160 1963-03-23 Neath
4160 had been a South Wales based locomotive for the whole of its working life , being allocated initially to Barry and thence to Severn Tunnel Junction from where it was condemned in 1965 , the final year for Western Region steam .
Purchased from Woodham's at Barry by the Tyseley Preservation movement in 1974 the engine was later in 1981 sold to the Plymouth based Plym Valley Railway but their plans to restore it fell through and poor old 4160 was moved yet again , this time to the West Somerset Railway where it remains today.
