49064 1959-08-08 Tredegar

The last LNWR class 7F (G2A) 0-8-0 to remain in South Wales, No 49064 is about to depart from Tredegar shed complete with a redundant snow plough bound for Crewe Works on August 8, 1959. It was not withdrawn as expected but saw a few more months service at Edge Hill shed before secumbing in June 1960. Orginally built a class A compound in April 1898 it was rebuilt to class D in 1909, class G1 in 1926 and finally G2A in 1939.
