DMU W22W 1961-04-13 Shrewsbury

GWR diesel railcar No W22W entering Shrewsbury from the Severn Valley on 13 April 1961.

Peter Kerslake says "With the imposing signal box visible and the line to Wolverhampton and beyond curving away to the left. With bodywork built at Swindon W22W was one of the third and final series capable of carrying 60 ton loads and accommodate 49 passengers and their luggage and designed to work in pairs with a standard 70 foot coach often coupled between them. W22W survives today, based at Didcot ".
