Hughes 4-6-4T No 11115 at Stalybridge when still quite new. This was thought to be Buxton but further research by Vic Smith reveals it is almost certainly the west end bay platforms of Stalybridge station facing the buffer stops. The canopy spandrels match perfectly and being a joint station would be unique, plus there was the loco release crossovers as glimpsed here.


There is a L&SWR headed board advertising the Atlantic Seaboard on right, whilst the board on left has a LNWR heading and a LM&SR advertising pasted on.
The coach is an LYR 3rd still in LYR livery which would not have been used on the Buxton trains when these locos were tried on them, therefore I suspect it is a LNWR or LYR station in the north west. However the presence of a LSWR poster board does suggest a major station.
