The ‘Old Manchester’ Railtour of 12th May 1956 at Facit with ex-L&YR No 50647. This was the last leg of the railtour, returning to Manchester via Rochdale. Earlier in the day, this engine along with No 52438 took the train up Oldham’s Werneth Incline (over a mile at 1 in 27), the steepest passenger worked railway line in Britain.
