Ex-London & North Western Railway Webb 'Coal Tank' class 0-6-2 Tank No. 58887. Built at Crewe in Dec. 1881 as L&NWR No. 252 and withdrawn in April 1955.

By the time this September 1953 photograph was taken at Bletchley MPD in Buckinghamshire, 58887 was already in its 72nd year of service. It still has two more to go! 300 'Coal Tanks' were built and one, the former 58926 is preserved by the National Trust in its original guise of L&NWR No. 1054.
