Ex-LNER Thompson 'B1' class 4-6-0 No. 61102. Built by NBL of Glasgow in December 1946 as LNER No. 1102 and withdrawn in July 1967.
The turntable at Dundee Tay Bridge MPD is the setting for this lovely July 1965 photograph of 61102. The backdrop featuring some of Dundee's many spires adds much to the detail in this view. I think that the smaller diameter smokebox (seen here) fitted to some 'B1s' suits their lines rather well.
