The 'Wakefield Railfans Club' had negociated a new and enviable home by renting the closed ex-Midland Railway Station just south of Wakefield at Walton. This was on the MR route south from Leeds that would also shortly be closed under the Beeching plan. The hard winter of 1963 did produce some excellent photographic opportunities as ex-LNER Thompson 'B1' 61080 proves in fine style with an up freight. February 1963.
