The distinctive, lofted signalbox at Skelton Junction, Timperley in Cheshire gave an excellent view of the complex of converging and diverging lines at this busy location. A 'Grand National' race day special with reporting number 300 is heading to Aintree from Lincoln. Immingham's ex-LNER Thompson 'B1' appears to be mastering the task with aplomb! Saturday 10th April 1954. Incidentally, 'Grand Tan' an 8/1 shot was the 'National' winner but my horse is still running!
