61121 1964-02-24 Annesley

B1 No.61121 dragging preserved Gresley A4 Mallard down to Clapham for display at the Transport Museum draws a crowd of Annesley railwaymen to look at the apparition in garter blue.
Mallard was towed south from Annesley by 73045 on 25/02/64 so I assume this is the arrival at Annesley towed by 61121 on 24/02/64, we believe the engine was recessed overnight at Annesley.

The Museum of British Transport was housed in a disused tram depot in Clapham High Street from 1963 to 1972. Mallard and most of the other exhibits moved from there to York on formation of the National Railway Museum in 1975.
