Ex-LNER Thompson B1 No. 61150 is getting underway from Guide Bridge, near Stockport in 1954. The overhead catenary does little (actually nothing!) to beautify the scene but would become a much more familiar sight on Britain's railways in future years. 61150 was built by Vulcan Foundry in Apr. 1947 as LNER No. 1150 and was withdrawn in Sept. 1962.
