Great Western Railway Collett '8100' class 2-6-2 Tank No. 8100. Built at Swindon in Sept. 1938 and withdrawn in Oct. 1962. The '8100' class prototype 8100 at Leamington Spa MPD in February 1939 must have greatly impressed Les Hanson because he rarely took two pictures of a locomotive on the same occasion. Here's the 'fore' version offering a lovely study in the evening light.
