8107 1954-04 Whitland shed

GWR 81XX 2-6-2T No 8107 at Whitland shed in April 1954. It was there from August 1945 until September 1960 when it was transferred to Worcester.

Peter Kerslake says "The eighth of the ten "5100's" rebuilt at Swindon by Mr.Collett from 1938 number 8107 was the first to be condemned in 1962, the impending war years limiting the number so rebuilt to just those ten with 8019 the last survivor remaining until 1965.
During their 27 years service the ten "8100's" were to be found in the mid 'fifties at Leamington, Worcester, Kidderminster and Tyseley whilst in Wales two were at Neyland, with Carmarthen and Neath each having just one each".
