8552 1930c Bethnal Green

Holden GER class B12 4-6-0 No 8552 reaches the top of Bethnal Green bank out of Liverpool Street with the Clacton Pullman.
Peter Kerslake says "The immaculate B12 has the LNER 1928 style of livery with the locomotive's number squeezed in the limited space between the beading of the trailing splasher and the side cab window, although this arrangement was later changed when the beading was removed and the numbers afforded more space on the cab sides.
71 of the class came into L.N.E.R. ownership frrom the Great Eastern Railway in 1923 with an additional ten classified as B12/2 ordered in 1928, numbered from 8571 to 8580 inclusive."
