Ex-Great Eastern Railway S.D. Holden 'B12' class 4-6-0 No. 61570. Built at Stratford in June 1920 as GER No. 1570 and withdrawn in March 1958.

A lovely portrait taken in May 1956 at Stratford MPD of 61570 in immaculate ex-works condition. This locomotive had been fitted in April 1932 with the boiler-mounted, large and ugly ACFI feed-water heater. This was removed in June 1941 as a wartime economy measure and never re-fitted.
