D1000 1969-06 Kensington Olympia
David J Hayes provides the details: Although by the mid-1970's train 8O17 was operating as a regular late morning out-and-back Class 52-hauled Acton Yard to Norwood Yard service (booked through Kensington Olympia at around 11:15 SSuX), further investigation, based on recently acquired Working Time Table information, would suggest that at the time of this picture (taken in the late 1960's), the 8O17 service ran as the 13:00 SSuX traditional mixed goods from Severn Tunnel Junction to Norwood (arr. 21:08) and was booked off Acton at 19:38 and through Kenny-O at 20:06. There were up to three mixed freights each weekday between Severn Tunnel Junction Yard and Norwood Yard at this time.
