D1015 is seen in 1974 leaving Bristol Temple meads with postal empties consisting of a number of GWR Siphon G's. The signal box was still in BR(W) chocolate and cream. Western Champion would almost make it to the final end of the class, not being withdrawn until 12th December 1976 after a derailment at Castle Cary while working a Westbury to Yeovil freight.
