Ruston & Hornsby No. ZM32 was the curious replacement for 0-4-0 ST 'Wren', now preserved. 'Wren' was the last of the long-lived 18" narrow gauge steam locomotives that had plied Horwich Works from 1887 to 1962. It is the number allocated to this diesel that intrigues me - where are ZM Nos. 1-31?
