Preston-le Skerne in County Durham might not top the list of everyone's ideal photographic locations. Perhaps the local residents may be a factor? Wisely, they feign any concern. Not even the passage of a BR 'Class 24' Bo-Bo Diesel in May 1964 with a Newcastle to Bristol express will disturb their muddy reverie!

D5096 was built at Darlington in April 1960 and was withdrawn in Aug. 1975 as TOPS No. 24096.
