At Stirling Station in May 1964, BR Riddles Standard ‘Britannia' class 4-6-2 No. 70037 Hereward the Wake, built at Crewe in December 1952, was passing BR 'Class 27' Bo-Bo diesel No. D5364, built by BR&CW of Birmingham in December 1961, on the 6:15 Oban to Glasgow train. Although there may have been a fish van or two at the rear of the 06.15 from Oban, it was principally a passenger train. Assuming both trains are on time 70037 is on 3S02 the 6.5am Carlisle-Perth parcels. No. 70037 was withdrawn in November 1966, while No. D5364 was withdrawn in May 1986 as TOPS No. 27018.
