NCB No 5 previously named ‘Major’ lies withdrawn from service at Derwenthaugh, Blaydon. Built by Kitson of Leeds in 1905. Photographed in 1969. This engine carried a chimney reminiscent of an ex-GNR Class J50, the so-called Ardsley Tanks.
