GWR 4575 class 2-6-2T No 5570 waits to depart from Machynlleth with the Pwlhelli portion of the down 'Cambrian Coast Express' on September 3, 1956.
The down 'Cambrian Coast Express' divided into Aberystwith and Pwllheli portions at Machynlleth whereas in the Up direction they combined at Dovey Junction.
Peter Kerslake says "5570 was one of the later "4575"series of small 2-6-2Ts with has the larger capacity water tanks which enabled those later varients to work longer distances than the earlier "4500" examples on the Cambrian."
