GWR 45XX class 2-6-2T No 4566 heads away from Andover towards Red Post Junction with a train for Swindon Town over the M&SWJ line in the 1930s.

The coaches are a pair of E147 (flat ended) 6-compartment Brake Composites in a ‘B’ set formation.
The first batch of these diagram coaches were introduced in October 1933. At this time they would have the coat of arms on the sides (not clear on the photo) and with white rooves. The fact that they are by the date of the photo somewhat a bit tarnished with grey rooves suggests the photo date is mid-1930s at earliest.

4566 was a nomad, it was allocated to Swindon from February 1930 until some time in 1933, then Yeovil from March 1935 for just one month then back to Westbury, then Bath Road in Nov 35. However it was back to Swindon in march 1938 until 1941 so it is most likely this is during the 1938-41 period?
