A delightful picture of little 4566 at the picturesque holiday station here at St. Ives , the terminus of the branch from St.Erth , the last station before Penzance on the Cornish main line .
From the number of passengers crowding the platform this looks to be a Summertime photograph with 4566 appearing to be about to run round the stock before working back down to St.Erth .
4566 was shedded at Penzance at this period in time before being reallocated eastwards to Plymouth's Laira Depot from where it was withdrawn in early 1962.
Saved from the cutters' torches at Barry , 4566 went to the Severn Valley Railway in 1970 where it remains today.
