Preserved but running on BR

Allocated to Machynlleth in the mid ' fifties , 4555 was later privately purchased directly from British Rail in 1965 , being restored to full Great Western colours at Worcester Works before working a number of Railway Enthusiasts' Specials resplendent in its newly applied livery .
A very early arrival in late 1965 at the Dart Valley Railway in South Devon , a location at which the engine had worked many years earlier whilst in British Railways service , saw the engine spend a considerable period of time on that line again before a move to the associated Torbay Railway took place in 1973 , the engine remaining on that line at the present time
