44892 1963-08 near Gargrave
Still carrying the 24L code for Carnforth that was discontinued that month. The loco is crossing the canal bridge north of Gargrave on the 'Little North Western' close to the other bridge over the River Aire. If you look closely at the foot of the large trees on the right, there is a footpath with built edge to the water, so a towpath. The wooden posts near the water were originally there to protect the bridge from barges. The cottage in the distance is in fact a house, (two semi-detached I suspect). LM Steam, Skipton - Carlisle, Bradford Barton, p.83 has a photo closer to this house.
