Double heading of Black 5s was common on the West Highland lines, 44957 was a regular between Glasgow Queen Street and Fort William trains. Both engines in this picture had forward top feeds, 44957 acquiring its example in March 1959, at the same time as the AWS was fitted. It was allocated to Eastfield from December 1954 until December 1962 when it was transferred to Corkerhill.
