In the withdrawn line with its tender plates missing and the connecting rod crudely cut with a 'Gas Axe' which makes it between June and October 1968 when it departed to Ward's Beighton.
It was withdrawn from Lostock Hall in week ending 9th December 1967 and initially was stored at Heysham. Cumbrian Railways Association Photo Library have an image of “LMS 5MT 4-6-0 44915 connecting rods removed, for carriage heating” dated 1967/12/24. Also a photo has appeared on eBay dated April 1968 at Heysham.
