A very clean 45161 and 45587 'Baroda' join the WCML at Strawfrank Junction just south of Carstairs station with a direct train from Edinburgh. They are coming off the chord that forms a triangle thereby linking the Edinburgh lines to the WCML in all directions. The black five is working off its home shed of Dalry Road but the Jubilee is either from Crewe North or Longsight after its move at the end of July 1951.
