Ex-LMS Stanier 'Black 5' class 4-6-0s Nos. 44946 and 44990. Both built at Horwich in January 1946 (44946) and December 1946 (44990). Withdrawn in May 1967 (44946) and October 1967 (44990).

The Northern end of the former L&YR MPD at Wakefield has three 'Black 5's and a 'WD' on show in February 1967. Wakefield was the easiest shed for me to reach and sundays could always be guaranteed to have a good selection of locos to see. The usual suspects being their very large allocation of 'WD' 2-8-0s.
