LMS designed Stanier 'Black 5' class 4-6-0 No. 44713. Built at Horwich in November 1948 and withdrawn in August 1968.

It's July 1967 at Low Gill in Westmorland and steam on British Railways has just one year to go. Not that you'd know its imminent demise by looking at 44713 with steam to spare.
