At Leeds City Station on Saturday, 30th January 1965, ex-LMS Stanier 'Black 5' class 4-6-0 No. 44838, built at Crewe in September 1944 as LMS No. 4838, arrived from Liverpool with a football special carrying Everton supporters for the FA Cup 4th round at Elland Road, which ended in a draw at 1:1. It was withdrawn from service in March 1968.
