Kept in clean condition under the eye of Jim Carter and shed staff at Patricroft the last surviving named Black Five rests at the home shed in July 1967. The original nameplates and regimental crest have gone but a painted ‘Ayrshire Yeomanry’ has been neatly applied. Withdrawal came at the very end, in Agust 1968.
