44693 1965-11-13 York Chaloners Whin
Depending on your point of view, the back yard and garden of the old railway cottage on the right, was a spotter's paradise or a householder's hell! In November 1965, a southbound 'Black 5' 44793 with a van freight has just passed York's Dringhouses yard and is about to take the Selby route at Chaloners Whin Junction. For added interest, the delightfully named 'Hogg's Pond' a former clay pit, can be seen beyond the allotments on the left.
