The 'Grand National' race at Aintree in Liverpool required a host of special trains to be catered for in the adjacent sidings, a wonderful location to 'cop' some rare visitors! Stanier 'Black 5' 44804 coded 1T05 is piloting a returning train for King's Norton in Birmingham with Stanier 'Jubilee' 45653 'Barham' as the train engine. Saturday 30th March 1963.
p.s. The race was won narrowly by 66/1 shot 'Ayala' - a few quid to be won there!
