45279 1950s Leeds Hunslet Goods Jct

LMS 5MT 4-6-0 No 45279 from Kentish Town shed equipped with Hudd AWS for LT&S line working an express leaving Leeds on ex-MR metals with an up train and about to pass through Hunslet Goods Junction in the mid-1950s.To the right, the lines under Jack Lane bridge access Hunslet Goods Yard that closed in 1976 and is now (inevitably) Crown Point retail park. Boyne Cafe on Jack Lane is above the first coach and the 'Railway Iron Foundry' is on the right behind which are Boyne and Hunslet Engine Works. The 'Boyne Works' were those of Manning Wardle and adjacent to Hunslet Engineering.
