Colin Ryder says "The loco has just passed under the Orton-Greenholme bridge nearly 2 miles north of Tebay station. The bridge recorded in the railway press usually as the ‘Greenholme Bridge’ was in earlier times referred to as the ‘Scotsman’s/Scotchman’s Bridge’ because of its place on the droving route from the North along Scotsman’s/Scotchman’s Lane down the Upper Lune Valley
Photographs at this spot were usually taken on the opposite side of the bridge looking back to Tebay. For purposes of confirmation, please see ‘LM Steam over Shap’, Derek Cross, Bradford Barton, 1973, p.81, for a view looking back up the line under the bridge showing the steep rocky outcrop to the left of this photo and the tall telegraph poles at the top of the embankment."
