This is looking south from Chulsey Gate Lane bridge, with Chew Moor sidings on right. Lostock Sidings South signal box was on the east side of line behind photographer and closed on 2nd April 1967. The sidings were officially closed at the same time but look pretty lightly used even by 1964.

Lostock Hall Carriage Sidings box was sited at a different location, on the spur between Lostock Hall Junction and Farington Junction behind “The Railway” pub on Watkin Lane, opposite side of the bridge to the shed.
