45060 1964-10-07 Stoke

45060 1964-10-07 Stoke

45060 was originally a Central Division engine until 1942 and was allocated to Stoke in 1960 where it was pictured on 7 October 1964. It was domed from September 1952 until withdrawn and the blanking plates in the cladding on the firebox shoulders clearly show the that the current boiler was one of those rebuilt with additional superheating in the late-1930s. 45060 was on its third riveted tender and acquired its AWS in April 1959. Note the Armstrong Whitworth builders plate on this Vulcan Foundry built engine.
