Stanier 'Black Five' No.44936 has benefitted from some cosmetic work on its smokebox with painted door hinges and around the dart. Its 16B shed code has been rather crudely painted on whereas below this, an LNER-style depot code COLK has been been applied with a stencil. No.44936 had a brief stay at the depot, arriving from Northampton in February 1966 and leaving for Carlisle Kingmoor the following November.
