At Stirling Station in May 1964, ex-LMS Stanier 'Black 5' class 4-6-0 No. 44998, built at Horwich in March 1947 as LMS No. 4998, was ready to depart with the 16:15 Glasgow to Callander train. It was withdrawn from service in April 1967.
