Black five No 44911 heads south for Wigan with a train of ftted merchandise opens.In the exchange sidings an 0-6-0DE NCB shunter works number YE 2713 of 1958 brings in loaded 16T minerals from Chisnall Hall Colliery. The site of Hic Bibi brickworks, closed in 1958 can be seen in the undergrowth to the right of the signal box. The colliery closed in spring 1967 with the shunter moving away to Sutton Manor Colliery after clearing up - it had gone by the end of the year. The signal box closed just over two years later on 17th January 1970
