60121 1960s Retford Babworth Box Retford
'Silurian' was allocated to York throughout its 17-year lifetime. With occasional exceptions, she mainly plied the ECML and was captured on film at many locations along the route. One less frequently seen is Babworth Box just north of Retford. Here's a fine 1960s image looking south from the road overbridge north of Retford station with much adjacent detail to see, featuring a down ECS train of Pullman vehicles passing the box and adjacent goods yard. The scene is busy with another train waiting for the road in the down loop and so good to see the goods yard with plenty of work.
