The magnificent 13th century white stone Minster at York is (inconsiderately!) partly obscured by Thompson 'B1' No. 61256. The main subject of this lovely 1964 image however, is BR Peppercorn 'A1' 4-6-2 No. 60124 'Kenilworth', smoking happily! It was built at Doncaster in March 1949 and was withdrawn in March 1966.
