60121 1950 Doncaster Carr

60121 1950 Doncaster Carr

In blue livery before naming. Tony Roberts who is much more knowledgeable than me says "Looking at the condition of all the paintwork (no signs of exhaust water from the chimney etc.), I wonder if "Silurian" had been on a Trial Run, ex Doncaster Plant Works, to Barkstone triangle but had a problem requiring a shed repair. It appears to be in a low pressure or light steam condition and is possibly awaiting a return path to Doncaster.

This is at the north end of 36A Carr Loco Shed before the roof was replaced. Of interest to me personally are the cabin and box on Red Bank Hump, visible right, where my father very often joined his train, he being a Mineral Guard at that time."
