BR Peppercorn A1 No. 60153 'Flamboyant' is receiving some attention to its middle cylinder in the atmospheric surroundings of York MPD. This June 1952 view shows the 'funnel' smoke hoods that were later replaced by a rectangular design. 60153 was built at Doncaster in Aug. 1949 and was withdrawn in Nov. 1962. Note that the lean-to structure on the left has a 'snack bar' sign in its window - who knew?
